Every year the Town Council holds two events; the Lymington Italia Festival in July and a Christmas event and Christmas light switch-on in November. The Town Council also provides financial support to other community events that take place throughout the year.

Lymington Italia Festival

Lymington Italia Festival takes place in July. Sadly, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the event was cancelled in 2020 and 2021. We look forward to it recommencing in 2022.

50 Ferrari cars drive in convoy through the streets of Lymington before parking in the High Street ready for viewing. An Italian market takes place on the High Street with fantastic food, drink and products. It is always a spectacular event that draws lots of crowds.

Christmas Event and Light Switch-On

Each November the Christmas event takes place from 4:00pm in Lymington High Street with a selection of stalls offering a wide selection of hot and cold food, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, cakes, mince pies, candy floss, sweets and donuts, gifts, arts and crafts, children’s amusements and the opportunity to step inside a life size Snow Globe Photo booth, with donations being taken for the Mayor’s chosen charity.

The Lymington Choral Society, along with Priestlands School choir commence carol singing around the Christmas tree from 5.45pm outside St. Thomas Church.  The Blessing of the Crib takes place at 6:00pm, with the lights throughout the High Street and the Church tree switched on at 6.15pm by the Town Mayor.

Father Christmas arrives on his sleigh by 6:30pm, accompanied by his friends from the Lymington Rotary Club.  Santa hands out sweets from his sleigh to all the little boys and girls.

All NFDC car parks in Lymington are free for the whole day to allow you to take advantage of Black Friday’s shopping deals as local traders and shop owners throughout Lymington also be joining the fun with late night shopping.
