Woodside Park covers an area of 20 hectares. There are 10 hectares of sports pitches that are used for rugby, football, cricket, tennis and croquet. There is a recent skate park, which has proved very popular and well used by younger people. The sports pavilion was improved and updated in 2016 and compliments the sports and recreation at Woodside.
Adjacent to the playing fields, covering 2.8 ha, is a formal gardens known as Woodside Gardens. Bequeathed to the people of Lymington by Colonel Henry Douglas Rooke in 1925 for the purposes of recreation, the beautiful gardens add to the ambience and stunning nature of the site.
An enclosed children’s play area is located to the west of the formal gardens.
To the east of the site is a 6 hectare area of grassland SINC, part of the area is fenced off with access for walkers through gates. At times horses are grazed on the fenced grassland.
Tarmac footpaths run through the park with mown paths running through the grassland. There are several access points to the park, 2 vehicular and 6 pedestrian. The main car parks are located off Ridgeway Lane and Rookes Lane.
